When we first met Vikki and Taylor they expressed how important it was to have extraordinary weddings photos and to have fun creating them. Since we are a massive fan of both we knew this couple was going to deliver on their wedding day.
The couple both got ready at the Best Western Plus. It's always nice when the bride and groom get ready in the same hotel because it gives us more time with them. Taylor and his groomsmen were cracking jokes non stop so their was a ton of laughter in the room. There were a number of different videos playing on "how to tie a tie" with Taylor's brother leading the charge on the most complex knot I have ever seen. In the end the guys decided on a full windsor knot which really complemented their vests. The girls were chilling with mimosas and enjoying the air conditioning as it was a hot August day.
The reception took place at the newest wedding venue in Drayton Valley the Clean Energy Technology Centre. With staggering architecture this building will quickly become a favourite for couples.
As soon as the ceremony was over it was burnout time! Taylor is a licensed mechanic and also enjoys building his own super trucks in his spare time. With the bride in position the groom put on an epic smoke show that had the wedding party cheering for more.
We also had time to drive down to the North Saskatchewan River for some bridal party portraits. When you are working with a fun group of people this is always a treat as they usually have some crazy ideas of their own.
The reception was back at the Clean Energy Technology Centre. The staff had transformed the space into something magical. One of the most unique sign in books we have ever seen was the Chevrolet tailgate that the guests were asked to sign.
The guests danced all night thanks to the banging beats from Dan at Baseline DJ. We were extremely proud that the couple asked Darcy Preece Photography to capture these priceless images for them.
