Windermere Golf and Country Club is located just off of Ellerslie Road on the South side of Edmonton. It is nestled along the North Saskatchewan River which is always a stunning place to capture your wedding photos.
The golf course has been around since 1957, and they started catering to weddings in 2011 when the new club house was built.
The Windermere Golf and Country Club cab accommodate 150 people in the off season and 120 people during golf season.
Stephen and Janine had both there wedding ceremony, and wedding reception at the beautiful Windermere Golf and Country Club in Edmonton, Alberta. This was such an incredible place for a fall wedding as the colours were out all over the golf course.
Our day started out in Morinville, AB early in the morning as Janine was getting ready at her parents house. Janine grew up in this house so it meant that much more to us to photograph her in this house. There are some special moments when a bride or groom is getting ready in the house that they grew up in.
After Morinville we travelled to the West End of Edmonton to Stephen and Janine's house where the groom and his groomsmen were getting ready. There was also another very special guest at the house that we knew needed lots of photographs of. His name was Jetson and he already had his bowtie on when we arrived. This four legged groomsmen was extremely special to the couple as he was their first fur baby. He was so special that he even starred in quite a few of their engagement photos.
When we finished the groomsmen photos we were off to the ceremony location at Windermere Golf and Country club. Walking up to this unique location is always a treat as they have two huge stone pillars at the entrance.
The ceremony was upstairs with a fireplace as the backdrop. There was a cool surprise in store for us as the officiant was Matt Jeneroux. Matt is an MP in Ottawa that was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the 2015 federal election. He is a personal friend of the couple so they asked him to help out on their special day.
After the ceremony the Marshall of the golf course had 5 golf carts ready for the bridal party to use. It was a crisp fall day so this was very much appreciated.
We wanted to start with the family photos first so the guests could get back to cocktail hour.
For the wedding portraits we had so many amazing options because the golf course is so beautiful and with the fall colours it was even more incredible.
By the time we finished the portraits and got back to the clubhouse the ceremony was quickly transformed into reception location. It looked amazing! The decor was outstanding and the fireplace in the middle of the room really set the mood for the evening.
Our favourite part of the night is always the first dance! It's the first time the new couple gets to dance together as husband and wife. Now whats better than that!
We were grateful that the dance floor had two vintage chandeliers to frame the couple in nicely.
Everyone we met at the venue was extremely pleasant to work with and we would highly recommend the Windermere Golf and Country Club for your wedding.
